Dear Friends and Clients,

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the city

The markets were quieter, hence our little ditty.

The ‘For Sale’ signs were hung on the lawns with great care,

In hopes that ‘real’ buyers soon would be there.

 

Interest rates are still dropping and are really quite low,

For those buyers who decide to venture out in the snow.

With Tom in his suit and Kerrie in her heels,

We are still ready and willing to go out and do deals.

 

But out in the press there has been such a clatter,

We’ve put pen to paper to assure you nothing’s the matter.

This story was told to me by a realtor who wishes to remain anonymous. The realtor in question is part of the baby boomer demograph and usually works with slightly 'older' clientele. One of her clients, a widow in her mid to late 80's, had finally decided to sell her enormous home and downsize to a much smaller apartment. The client, it should be noted, was a fiesty, very well educated old gal who didn't take any crap from anyone.  Her home was a classic beauty absolutely filled to the brim with history and one that took any potential buyer back into a time and place mostly forgotten by the modern era.
