Tom Everitt B.A. (note: I wanted to write my bio in 1st person but my wife insists that it be in 3rd person. I apologize if this irritates anyone but I am powerless to stop her).
In 1998, against the advice of virtually everyone he knew, Tom Everitt decided to become a licensed realtor while the dot com boom was in full force. With chirping crickets and only 4 other people in his class at that time, the death of the Vancouver real estate market was fast approaching. Tom strongly debated whether becoming licensed was an intelligent move or not - but he realized 2 things. 1) The simple fact of the matter was that both his parents came from real estate related employment and he wanted to help people buy and sell their homes; and 2) His wife informed him that if he didn't finish the course, she was leaving him for Miguel, the pool boy. Needless to say, Tom became a licensed realtor towards the end of 1998 and his commitment to real estate led him to Rookie of the Year honours at Dexter Associates Realty in 1999 selling 27 homes. Tom is an excellent real estate negotiator and marketer of homes and his success each year and many client testimonials will attest to his skill in these areas.
Tom has been a Medallion member of the Vancouver Real Estate Board (top 10%) for the last three years and was top 3% last year.
One of Tom's other main interests is writing and public speaking. Tom has been a featured guest columnist for the Vancouver Sun's West Coast Homes section. He also won the 2003 British Columbia public speaking championships and was a finalist in the 2003 Western North America public speaking championships held in Salt Lake City. He also received third place at the 2005 B.C. Humorous Speaking Championships held at the Pan Pacific Hotel here in Vancouver.
Tom and Kerrie are both authors of the new book, 'True Real Estate Stories', an anthology of real estate stories collected from around the world and available at all major bookstores or Chapters.ca. They have appeared on CTV, CBC, City TV, Breakfast Television and Realty Television.
Tom has also found time to be a Big Brother to his friend, Chris. Tom and Chris were one of the 2005 Bowling for Big Brothers Featured Matches. They have also just celebrated their 5 year match anniversary Jan 22, '08. Chris can now kick Tom's butt in virtually all areas of sports regularly.
Tom and Kerrie want to let you know that they are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl, Capri Aliyah Everitt (who really runs the show around here-Tom) and a brand new baby boy, Bowen Thomas Everitt-9lbs. 12 oz's.
Kerrie Everitt B.A. L.L.B.
In January, 2005, the lure of the Vancouver real estate market finally proved too strong for Kerrie Everitt and she decided to leave her position as a corporate lawyer with the largest law firm in Canada, McCarthy Tetrault LLP (in order to completely take over our business-Tom). Once licensed, she immediately joined Dexter Associates Realty to help with her husband's busy residential real estate practise (and to boss him around a bit-Tom).
Kerrie was recruited by McCarthy Tetrault, Canada's National Law Firm, in June 2001 after she graduated from law school at the University of British Columbia. Prior to entering law school, Kerrie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at UBC with a major in international relations.
During her three years of law school, Kerrie danced as a member of the National Basketball Association's Vancouver Grizzlies Extreme Dance Team, using the 15 years of dance training that she had received at various dance companies and schools in Canada and the U.S., namely the Alberta Ballet Company, the Boston Ballet School, Banff School of Fine Arts, Quinte Dance Centre and the Lindsay Walsh School of Dance (she is also, officially, the most organized human being on planet earth-Tom).
